My Next Pretty Thing
I really need to replace my robes. I miss having the classic velour white hooded robe.
This style is perfect but I need to decide on long or short.
Either way, it makes me feel very glamours to be wrapped up in such luxury.
THE WHITE ROBE
When I was in college, I had a part time job in an upscale department store. It was exciting for me to be around such beautiful fashions, accessories and cosmetics. The downside was not be able to afford to shop there.
There was a beautiful Dior bath robe that caught my eye. I would go “visit” it in the lingerie department, dreaming about owning it someday.
One day the word around the store was our employee credit cards had no limited because the computers was down. Everyone went wild buying everything they wanted. I realized I would owe this money back but that robe was calling me.
I bought it. It was 90 dollars. More than I made in a week.
It was the most luxuriousness robes I ever owned. It was pure white made out of the softest terry/velour. It had a hood that I used instead of a towel for drying my hair.
I saw the robe in Vogue in a beauty editorial about spa treatments at home. During my spending spree I also bought a Clairins body treatments.
When I got home, I took a shower, put on the robe and let the body treatment do its thing.
It was the most pampering I have ever had. I had the robe for years until it started to look like a old bath towel.
I thought it would be fun to show some great moments in movie fashions. This is all about the robe. Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and today Rachel Zoe wear it elegance.
I just picked up these tees today. I am going to wear the black one with black and the orange one with white. I am trying to embrace white denim.
